Hubert Kowalski

dr hab. Hubert Kowalski adiunkt w Zakładzie Tradycji Antyku w Sztukach Wizualnych Instytutu Archeologii Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Autor kilkunastu książek oraz kilkudziesięciu artykułów naukowych i popularnonaukowych, opublikowanych m.in. w „Roczniku Warszawskim”, „Pegasusie”, „Baroku”, „Kronice Zamkowej” i „Kontekstach”. Opiekun koła Naukowego Recepcji Antyku – Ars Antica w Instytucie Archeologii UW. Koordynator projektu Wisła – interdyscyplinarne badania dna rzeki. Stypendysta Miasta st. Warszawy w latach: 2010 i 2011 i 2012, Fundacji Lanckorońskich w Rzymie, Instytutu Warburga w Londynie oraz Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego. Członek Zespołu ds. Warszawskich Historycznych Pracowni Artystycznych. Zajmuje się recepcją kultury artystycznej starożytnej Grecji i Rzymu w sztuce polskiej XVII, XVIII i XIX wieku. Zastępca dyrektora Muzeum Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Dr. Hubert Kowalski, assistant professor at the Department of Antiques in Visual Arts at the Institute of Archeology of the University of Warsaw. Published author of several books and dozens of scientific and popular science articles, among others in “Roczniku Warszawskim”, “Pegasusie”, “Baroku”, “Kronice Zamkowej” and “Kontekstach”. Advisor of the Antique Reception team – Ars Antica at the Institute of Archeology of the University of Warsaw. Coordinator of the Wisła project – interdisciplinary research of the riverbed. Scholarship holder of the City of Warsaw in the years 2010, 2011, and 2012, the Lanckoronski Foundation in Rome, the Warburg Institute in London, as well as the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Member of the Warsaw Historical Art Workshops team. He deals with the reception of artistic culture of ancient Greece and Rome in Polish art of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Deputy director of the University of Warsaw Museum.
